Downtown Port Huron welcomes back The Papaya Branch Boutique. The women’s apparel boutique returns with a grand opening event on Saturday, Nov. 13, at 10 a.m. Swag bags will be given out to the first 100 customers, including a $10 gift certificate to the store.
“We are so excited to be back downtown,” says Laura Lyon, owner of The Papaya Branch. “When our lease ended in spring of 2021, we took to ‘social selling’ until this new building was completed.”
The Papaya Branch offers women’s apparel from casual lounge wear to semi-formal to formal occasions for all women.
“We are size-inclusive, carrying sizes from small to 3X — that’s what makes The Papaya Branch different from national store chains. We don’t try to mimic or match other stores; our store is more personal. When you walk in, you are greeted by our staff,” Lyon says.
“The Papaya Branch retails trendy, unique clothing not seen in other shops. We want to stand out by offering something new and different for the customer to purchase. Most of the manufacturers come out of the Los Angeles fashion district — [but] styles are budget-friendly.”
Laura Lyon, owner of The Papaya Branch Boutique in downtown Port Huron. The new 7,000 sq. ft. downtown storefront will have plenty of retail space for people to come in and shop. And Papaya Branch still plans to offer their wares via “social selling,” for customers that can not make it in person.
“Our social selling will go live twice a week on The Papaya Branch App,
Facebook, and
Instagram, and we will be able to sell to women all over the United States,” Lyon says.
“Just in time for the cold weather, we will be carrying a line of Arctic Wear, manufactured in Canada. They had midwest winters in mind when creating this fashionable, yet affordable line of winter wear.”
The Papaya Branch will also be adding a women’s intimate apparel line in the future.
The Papaya Branch Boutique celebrates their grand opening on Saturday, Nov. 13, beginning at 10 a.m. Their new store is located at 220 Huron Ave. in downtown Port Huron.
