Wash rack design company business expands

Riveer Environmental, a South Haven company that invents, designs and builds wash racks for heavy industrial equipment, military equipment and specialized aircraft cleaning trailers is expanding.

Earlier in 2011 Riveer Environmental made significant investments in equipment and personnel. The company also added 100 feet to create a rest area in its lot. It currently expects its staff to grow from 14 to a least 24 employees in coming years. The company plans to add engineering staff among others.

The company located in South Haven in 2000 and initially planned to employ a staff of five to seven. It has been steadily growing since then. In 2005, the company added staff and 6,000 square feet of floor space to keep up with demand from the Department of Defense.

Riveer Environmental's plans further growth and intends to continue work with the Department of Defense and commercial vendors.

Its core business is custom-designed wash water filtration systems. It specializes in oil and water separation, in-ground filtration, above-ground filtration and portable collection systems. The company works directly with customers to create washing systems custom designed for their needs.

The company sells its aircraft washers internationally and has large-scale installations of equipment in Qatar, Guam, Kuwait, and elsewhere.

Riveer Environmental is seeking from the city of South Haven a tax break of 50 percent over 12 years for its facility at 233 Veterans Blvd. The industrial facilities tax exemption totals $5,790. City council members will conduct a public hearing and vote Nov. 21 on the request.
