A business that helps pharmaceutical companies maintain high levels of chemical purity has become the fourth company this year to locate in Western Michigan University's Business Technology and Research Park.
Dynamic Engineering has opened an office in the Granite Park I Building, 4664 Campus Drive.
The company's Michigan office, formerly located in Sturgis, has a base of 10 staff members focused on engineering and business development.
"We would love to double or even triple the size of the Kalamazoo office over the next year," says Christian Fittro, who directs business development for the Michigan office.
Dynamic Engineering has an extensive list of national, international and Midwest clients that includes Pfizer, Parke Davis, Abbott Laboratories and Bayer.
Over the past 25 years, the company has successfully completed more than 2,000 projects for clients around the world in manufacturing areas ranging from blood processing and small molecule work to product feasibility studies, plant and site layouts, and handling hazardous substances.
"We specialize in processes that require guaranteed purity, and we help our clients build safe plants," says Fittro.
The company plans to expand into the food processing and packaging and medical device packaging businesses in the coming year.
The company also has a long history of employing WMU alumni and working with promising interns from the University. The firm says the move will make it easier to continue that tradition.
Fittro says using interns and young engineers with fresh ideas teamed with experienced experts is part of the company's culture.
Dynamic Engineering is headquartered in Houston and has an office in Shanghai.
The 11-year-old Business Technology and Research Park, which focuses on the life sciences, advanced engineering and information technology, now is home to some 30 companies and directly employs nearly 700 people.
