Brookfield Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep moves into larger location

Brookfield Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep, an auto dealership that started selling cars in Benton Harbor in 1946 has recently celebrated the expansion of its location at 1845 Pipestone Road.

Some 67 years ago, Sheldon Bridges and his son Dick years built the Watervliet dealership known as Bridges – Chevrolet - Olds – GM – Buick.  In 1983, Robert Brookfield and his son, Don, from Hartford took over the business. The dealership was called Brookfield Chrysler – Plymouth – Dodge in the mid 1980s. They added the Jeep brand in 1990.

The most recent expansion involved adding 7,000 square feet to the 30,000-square-foot dealership. Brookfield now employs 23 full-time employees with sales, service and administration responsibilities.

Don Brookfield says the addition was exactly what the business needed and it has allowed them to add five employees.

“We have added a quick lube for faster oil changes with no appointment needed," Brookfield says.  "We’ve also improved our detail department, giving us the capacity to offer customer details. We are also working towards adding a body shop so we can offer a complete service package to our customers.”

Their sales floor is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 2  p.m. on Saturday. Service hours are 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday and 8 a.m. to 5  p.m. Tuesday though Friday.
