Haircuts, relaxer treatments, permanents, and pressing services are what are offered in a full-service hair salon. Benton Harbor has recently seen a new one open its doors.
Nikki's Place of Hair Care
, 151 East Napier, owned by Nicole Wooden opened for business May 3.
“I always knew that I would be a small business owner,” Wooden says.
Her drive to be a business owner has led her purchase an 8,000-square-foot building on Napier Avenue. Two retail stores and a cafe opened there May 3 and further space is available for office or retail businesses.
Wooden says the Women's Business Center at Cornerstone Alliance helped her perfect and implement her business plan. They also guided her to resources that she says she would not have otherwise received. "They definitely made my journey to owning my own business easier."
Margaret Adams, Manager and Business Developer of Women’s Business Center at Cornerstone Alliance returns the compliment.
"She was very deliberate in her plans and implementation of her hair salon," Adams says. "Her tenacity to launch her own business and offer future entrepreneurs and existing small business owners the opportunity to lease space in her building has been inspiring."
For more information on the salon hours and services, please call 269.369.6064.
The Women’s Business Center at Cornerstone Alliance and Microloan Program are funded in part through a Cooperative Agreement with the U.S. Small Business Administration.
