A new general manager will be taking over operations at
Tucker's of Northport.
The bowling alley, restaurant and small-town hangout will be managed by David Waskiewicz, a Northport native who has long experience with the area restaurant industry.
In fact, he says, his first restaurant job was as a line cook at Woody's, which occupied the site where Tucker's now stands, back in the 1980s. Waskiewicz went on to get a degree from Central Michigan University and returned to northwest Michigan working as public relations manager at Grand Traverse Resort.
Waskiewicz's experience also includes being part of the new restaurant opening team for Paragon Restaurants, teaching customer service and sales to new restauranteurs, and later becoming the dining room manager of Forte, a Birmingham, Michigan bistro owned by the Epoch Restaurant Group. He opened several new restaurants for Epoch, including Latitude at Bay Harbor near Petoskey.
