Public relations company Oneupweb in Traverse City is just raking in the awards lately. A Telly Award was only the beginning for its documentary
Step & Close, highlighting Traverse City high school marching bands and the importance of music education.
That was followed up by a Communitas Award, Communicator and Videographer awards, and now, a
Stevie Award, given by the 2011 American Business Awards, a national ceremony held in New York City.
"The production of
Step & Close was quite an experience in itself," says Oneupweb CEO, Lisa Wehr. "The process and intensity of editing, filming and premiering our film was exciting, but now to receive recognition is just downright thrilling."
The Stevie award was given for public relations non-profit fundraising work, and
Step & Close was chosen from among hundreds of entries.
"There's certainly a 'wow' feeling when receiving a prestigious award like a Stevie," says Wehr. "But having earned an award for a project that we all felt passionate about, and one that was rewarding to execute is remarkable."
Step & Close is available for purchase online, and is a 45-minute documentary. The Stevie Awards recognize outstanding workplace performance across a variety of fields.
