A new attorney has joined the staff at
Smith Haughey Rice & Roegge.
Melissa Baumgartner was hired by the law firm to join their team in the Traverse City offices.
Baumgartner has taken the position of an associate with the firm and will be practicing both family law as well as estate planning. In that role, Baumgartner will be dealing with clients in cases such as divorce, post-divorce, custody, adoption and estate planning.
She comes to Traverse City with plenty of legal experience, having previously advocated as an attorney for children in child abuse, neglect and custody cases in New York as a member of the team at the Legal Aid Society's Juvenile Rights Practice.
Baumgartner is a graduate of the University of Michigan and earned her law degree from Pace University School of Law. She is licensed to practice law in both Michigan and New York.
