Nine employees now work at
Port City Organics Real Food Market & Wellness Center, up from seven in the past year. Joe and Lori Dumas expect the growth to continue.
"You’ve got to have faith going forward. We started this business in 2004 and we have experienced consistent growth every year that we’ve been in business," Joe says.
The retail portion of the business is a place to find health information and to purchase fresh, natural, organic and whole foods, as well as nutritional supplements (including herbal remedies). Customers come to the market for skincare products and even pet care merchandise added in a recent expansion.
Aromatherapy, medical massage therapy, hypnotherapy, energy work and other services are available from holistic health counselors in the wellness center.
Joe Dumas is very particular about the products he brings into his retails store--and customers have noticed.
"The more I bought, the more I sold," he says, of the recent sales growth. "And the more I sold, the more I bought. We are heavy on vitamin supplements and organic food that is local and less processed."
The Port City Organics Real Food market & Wellness Center’s web site is chock full of information for health-conscious consumers. Visit their website for coupons, recipes, health news features and more.
