There are two new members on the
Northwestern Michigan College's Foundation Board following approval by the board of trustees at its last meeting.
Steve Fisher and Juliette Schultz have been named to the NMC Foundation Board for three-year terms. The foundation, which was formed in 1981, is charged with the task of assisting Northwestern Michigan College in realizing its mission and vision by securing new financial resources, maximizing return on existing resources and acting as ambassadors to the community. Since its inception, the foundation has returned more than $42 million to the college.
Fisher and Schultz are both involved in business in Traverse City. Fisher is a partner with Independent Wealth Management, a fee-only wealth management firm in the city. He is a certified financial planner who is involved with NMC by serving as an Extended Educational Services instructor. He is a member of the Traverse City Economic Club, mentor for the Traverse City Central High School boys' tennis team and volunteer with local junior tennis players.
Schultz is president and CEO of Spark!Strategy. Her engagement with NMC has included mentoring students and participating in community listening sessions. Her community affiliations include the Traverse City Area Chamber of Commerce where she serves as a certified SCORE counselor; the Women's Resource Center Fashion Extravaganza; National Girl Scout Organization's Business Smarts Program; Mt. Holiday Ski Area board of directors and the Just Imagine Arts and Healing Center.
