A familiar face will be leading daily operations at
Munson Medical Center. Previously VP of operations, Derk Pronger will now be the chief operating officer for the hospital.
Pronger is a Traverse City native and has been with Munson since 2012. Before that, he was at Beaumont Health System in metro Detroit.
Munson says in the announcement that Pronger's new role is part of restructuring at the top of the health care system. It will place him in charge of daily operations and inpatient-related departments.
Pronger has a master's degree in health services administration from University of Detroit Mercy, a bachelor's degree in accounting from Purdue University, and an associate's degree from Northwestern Michigan College. He also is a fellow with The American College of Healthcare Executives and The Advisory Board, both health care administration organizations.
