A former Mackinaw City resident is returning to the state with an impressive new job title.
Tracie Fisher, formerly of Mackinaw Mill Creek Camping, will be taking over the desk of executive director of the
Michigan Association of RV Parks and Campgrounds.
Fisher had been working in Flagstaff, Ariz., but spent much of her career, which includes creating Tate Fisher Marketing and the publication Campground Manager Today, in Michigan. She began in the industry in 2004, as the office manager for Mackinaw Mill Creek Camping in Mackinaw City.
Also on her resume is a stint as the ARVC secretary, and the title of certified park operator, received after study at the National School of RV Park and Campground Management. Fisher also has an associate's degree in accounting from North Central Michigan College and is pursuing a bachelor's degree from Northern Arizona University.
"Tracie's ideas, contacts, strong leadership and knowledge of our industry make her the ideal person for this job," says Tim Wilcox, VP of Michigan ARVC. "She, along with our Board of Directors, will be steering the ARVC Michigan ship into new directions in the coming months and years."
During her time in Arizona, Fisher stayed active with the association through her marketing and consulting firm, which specializes in parks and campgrounds, and developed and maintains the ARVC Michigan website. She also teaches classes in website management and social media at the National School of RV Park and Campground Management.
The association represents more than 180 campgrounds and parks across the state.
