Kent Wood will be the new government liaison and lobbyist for the
Traverse City Area Chamber of Commerce as well as the Northern Michigan Chamber Alliance.
He replaces Doug DeYoung in the role, who is now at Consumers Energy.
Wood, a Traverse City native, has most recently been the legislative director for the Michigan United Conservation Clubs. He also has been legislative director for state Representative Peter Pettalia and director of constituent services for state Representative Wayne Schmidt.
"We're excited to bring Kent's energy and experience to the team at the Chamber and the Alliance," says Traverse City Area Chamber President and CEO Doug Luciani. "His wide range of legislative work in Lansing and Northern Michigan combined with his local background make him an excellent choice for this key position as a voice for Northern Michigan's business community with local, state and national officials."
