Great Start has new director Hamel

The Great Start to Quality Resource Center in Traverse City has a new director, Candice Hamel. The center is one of several across the state serving young children and their parents to improve childcare and early education. It serves several counties in northern Michigan.
 
Hamel comes to the center from the Michigan Department of Human Services in Alpena, where she was program services manager. She has 15 years of experience managing and administrating child and family programs and working in early childhood and family life.
 
The Great Start to Quality Northwest Resource Center is run by a partnership including the Traverse City Area Chamber of Commerce, the Traverse Bay Area ISD, Char-Em ISD, Wexford/Missaukee ISD, Manistee ISD, Northwest Michigan Community Action Agency, Pine Rest Christian Mental Health Services, and Leelanau Children's Center.
 
It is funded through the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
