Versus Technology in Traverse City is always looking for ways to improve on its medical locating technology, and its latest announcement bears witness to that.
Versus announced it has added new features and functions to its Real-Time Locating System technology, which is used by health care customers all over the country.
The system now includes new screens for viewing status and location of patients, staff and assets; new reporting tools, and better access from third-party systems.
All the functions and features were in response to customer requests and feedback, says Kevin Jackson, director of development for Versus.
"The bulk of Versus' development projects are driven by customer needs and requests, and, quite often, are in response to government regulations that, while intended to make healthcare safer, often put more strain on care providers. Versus' goal is to remove the burden of data entry, automate for greater efficiency and improved communication, and provide data so that healthcare providers can document progress and analyze clinical processes," says Jackson.
The new console view means floorplan, dashboard, list and alert elements all are visible on one screen now, which saves customers time in scanning through screens, and money, because only one monitor is needed.
A new time-and-motion tracking map also can now show users the path in real-time that a tracked asset, like a badge or medication, takes through the hospital, which can help hospitals assess efficiency and even prevent the spread of infection.
Better analytical tools also are part of the new RTLS features, allowing users to customize milestones and tracked assets to study the things they most want to analyze.
Overall, the improvements are designed to help health care providers gain efficiency, track patient care more closely, and provide financial savings.
