A new dance instruction practice has opened in Charlevoix, offering basic dancing lessons to all those interested on a weekly basis.
Two Left Feet is run by husband and wife team Dan and Tabitha Soullier, and offers lessons each Wednesday evening from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at
Northwest Academy of Charlevoix.
The couple teach about 12 to 16 people each week, but are open to more students, at a rate of $5 per person, per lesson. The low rate is part of their philosophy that dancing is about fun and should be open to everyone, says Dan Soullier.
"We don't charge a lot and we do that on purpose," he says. "Dancing is about having fun, not about being perfect. It's better to have 30 people learning to dance at five dollars an hour than to have just one learning at $30 an hour, we think."
Both Dan and Tabitha work full-time at other jobs, but hope to expand Two Left Feet in the future to offer lessons more frequently.
"We just started, and we're arranging our own schedule, but our hope is in the springtime to offer another class after the beginner class, that would be more for intermediate dancers," Soullier says.
The couple have several years of dance experience and have taught dance classes previously as well.
