Short's Brewing announced production is underway on a new bottling and packing line at its Elk Rapids production brewery.
The line consists of all-new equipment designed for Short's, to increase its bottled beer production rate by 300 percent. The goal is to keep up with the increased demand for bottled beer sales, which is going up by an average of 40 percent each year, according to Short's. The brewery invested $1.55 million into the new production line.
"The new line will allow us to keep up with Michigan-driven demand," says Tyler Glaze, quality manager for the brewery. "At the same time, it will allow us to get even more creative in our brewing, enhance the quality of the product we're distributing, and add new packaging options to our product line."
That creativity is being shown off right away with the introduction of a new year-round Short's brew, a session IPA called Prolonged Enjoyment. It's available in twelve-packs now, and is made on the new production line.
