New owner and name at Piper's Mighty Good Pizza

Those who have snagged themselves a slice of some Mighty Good Pizza in Harbor Springs may have noticed a slight change -- and, no, it's not in the recipe. It's the name: Piper's Mighty Good Pizza.

The change is just a slight one. Randy Proctor, the former owner of Randy's Mighty Good Pizza, made the decision to enjoy the fruits of his labor and enter retirement. Thankfully, longtime employee Doug Piper was there to pick up right where Proctor left off, all without missing a beat.

Piper has worked at Mighty Good Pizza, located at 974 West Conway Road, for the past 12 years, and odds are if you've had a pie from there in that time span he's probably had a hand in making it.

If you're expecting big changes to go along with the different name, then you probably should look elsewhere. Piper is proud of the tradition Mighty Good Pizza has made for itself, and he hasn't changed the menu that has helped make the pizzeria a popular choice since the doors opened in 1995.

Interested in giving it a try? You can go with something traditional, like a meat lover's pizza, or you can get a quality supreme pizza in Randy's Super (pepperoni, ham, mushrooms, green olives, green peppers and onions). Want something different? How about the Polish (Polish sausage, sauerkraut and onions)? Are you hungrier than the average bear? Check out the Mighty Good Monster (Two large pizza dough, pizza sauce, ham, pepperoni, onions, green peppers, green olives, mushrooms, tomatoes, bacon and double cheese -- pre-baked weight of approximately 6 pounds).

You can also get calzones, salads, tasty oven-roasted grinders (try the cheese steak), oven-baked pasta, chicken and a variety of appetizers, entrees and even dessert.
