MI Apparel opens online store, offers great way to showcase state pride

Love Michigan and the athletic teams that call it home? Well, you're in luck. A new company by the name of MI Apparel is giving you the opportunity to wear your heart on much more than just your sleeve.

Jeremy Symons, who is also the owner of Yooper Shirts, recently opened the online company, focusing on the importance of state pride and supporting the sports teams that are based here in Michigan.

"I've been a huge Northern Michigan University hockey and Detroit Tigers, Pistons and Red Wings fan since I was a kid," says Symons, who designed all of the shirts himself. " After starting Yooper Shirts in 2009 and seeing the success I was having with that, it only made me want to create more inspiring designs in tribute to Michigan and our great sports teams."

The shirts are done in tribute to the sports teams and feature modern designs printed on shirts that are made in the USA. Currently there are four designs that will be launched in mid-March.

Symons says he's well aware of other companies that showcase their love for Michigan through clothing, but he knows that his designs and high-quality product will help set MI Apparel apart.

"I'm confident that once the word spreads about some of my designs that people will recognize the thought I have put into everything that I do," he says. "From coming up with the idea of a design to executing it in a creative, likable fashion, to designing eye catching marketing graphics--and also the fact that I screen print all of the shirts locally."
