Progress is taking place at the site of the future home of
Hotel Indigo in Traverse City and it all started with a groundbreaking ceremony last month.
The ceremony took place at the
Insideout Gallery, located at 229 Garland Street, before continuing across the street at the construction site. It's there that the new 107 guest-room hotel will be built, featuring not only state-of-the-art accommodations, but also quite a few amenities, too. The Hotel Indigo Traverse City will also boast a full conference facility, a restaurant, lounges in both the lobby and on the rooftop as well as a health spa and a pool. The hotel will also have 79 underground parking spaces.
Construction on the site--which is being overseen by developer JS Capital Group of Rochester Hills, Mich.--is expected to be completed in January of next year with the entirety of the hotel's operations up and running by summer of 2014.
The project is expected to cost approximately $15 million and is financed by Traverse City State Bank and M Bank and includes environmental response activities that are being partially financed by the Grand Traverse County Brownfield Redevelopment Authority and the U.s. Environmental Protection Agency.
