Dog owners in northwest Michigan have a new option for grooming and training, as the
Grubby Pup and Superior Puppy Obedience Training has opened in Alanson.
Owner Carol Fischer runs both sides of the business, and offers several alternatives for canines and their people, like do-it-yourself dog washing or traditional grooming, and professional, military-style or humane-focused dog training techniques, depending on what clients prefer.
Training courses typically last six weeks and are offered for any age and breed. Electric clipper rentals, nail trimming, ear cleaning and other services also round out the offerings at the Grubby Pup and Superior Puppy Obedience Training, which officially opened its doors in October of 2012.
Fischer's background is in obedience training based on military training techniques, and she also is a certified veterinary technician with several years of experience at Maple River Animal Clinic.
The Grubby Pup is open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and from noon to 5 p.m. Thursdays through Saturdays.
