Now Boyne City residents looking to get their fix of natural and organic foods don't have to go far at all. The
Grain Train Natural Foods Market opened a second store, a satellite of its Petoskey base, at 104 S. Park Street, in Boyne City.
It's called the Grain Train Neighborhood Market and officially opened on Dec. 4. It's open seven days a week, offering up whole and organic foods with an emphasis on local products. So if you're looking for a source of local meats, produce, honey and a lot more including household supplies and natural or organic cleaning products, stop in at the new location, which is supplied by the main Grain Train co-op.
The Boyne City store is open Monday through Saturday from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. and on Sundays from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. to accommodate as many customers as possible.
The original Grain Train cooperative started in 1971, and was USDA-certified as the region's only organic certified retail grocery store in 2012.
