The
Cherry Republic store in downtown Traverse City is getting a major makeover. The store at 154 East Front Street closed this month to undertake a large renovation, and, according to the owners, will re-open in the spring.
Among the changes planned are a larger retail space, a larger tasting room, an onsite bakery (our minds boggle at the possibilities) and café. A new storefront and entrance also will update the way customers enter the store.
"A goal with this expansion is to create a second flagship store like our store in Glen Arbor. This will allow us to better capture the essence of northern Michigan in both the new look and in the experience we give our customers. And obviously, a goal is to better capture the flavors and fun of our favorite local fruit--the cherry," says the announcement.
In the meantime, if you can't get along without your Cherry Republic, a selection of their products is available a few doors down at Great Lakes Bath and Body, at 110 East Front Street in Traverse City.
