The Bay Breeze Yacht Charters and Sailing School has a familiar name in the maritime community in northern Michigan, but that name is changing, according to owners Dave and Kristen Conrad.
They purchased the business six years ago, and have made several changes that are resulting in the new name:
Great Lakes Sailing Co. In recent years, they've become one of the biggest yacht dealers on the Great Lakes, as well as the longtime staples of their business, a sailing school and yacht charter fleet.
"We're unique in that we are one of the few dealers in the country that offers new model sailboats for sale and for charter," says general manager Paul Davis. "It's part of our "Learn--Sail--Own" program where you can schedule lessons or charter time on your dream yacht to really get a feel if owning it is right for you."
Great Lakes Sailing Co. also has charter operations in Charlevoix and Cheboygan, besides its home base in Traverse City.
