Lapeer is the county seat of Lapeer County, part of the “Thumb” region of Michigan which is a subregion of Flint/Tri-Cities. It is located along the Flint River south of Flint. Lapeer is an agriculturally rich area surrounded by lakes and farmland. Lapeer, and the neighboring historic community of Metamora, has all of the small-town charm of quaint northern Michigan cities without the influx of seasonal tourism.
