Michigan Vascular Center adds new physician

The Michigan Vascular Center in Flint has brought on a new physician, Cherie R. Phillips.

Phillips comes to the center with an extensive background in vascular care. Originally from Cleveland, Phillips first earned a master's degree in bioethics before getting her medical degree at Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit.

She followed that up with a general surgery residence at Howard University Hospital in Washington, D.C. and a vascular surgery fellowship at University Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio. She has training in open surgical and advanced, minimally invasive endovascular procedures.

Phillips will be the tenth vascular surgeon on staff at Michigan Vascular Center, which serves mid-Michigan from offices in Saginaw, Flint and Clarkston.
