What better way to take advantage of our short but gorgeous Michigan summers than by getting out and visiting walkable downtown Midland restaurants? Taste of Downtown is planned for August 9 in downtown Midland, with more than 25 restaurants and stores participating. Restaurants serve up original recipes at local stores and galleries, while pubs offer signature drinks.
"It's a great way to experience all that downtown Midland has to offer and, if you are a frequenter to the downtown area, it will be a great night on the town with friends and neighbors," says Selina Tisdale, executive director for the Downtown Development Authority, which hosts the event.
If there's a restaurant you've wanted to try but haven't quite gotten to yet, the night offers food, beverages and street music beginning at 5:30 p.m. to guests, who can travel from place to place, ending at the H Hotel for an after-party on the patio with a cash bar and musical entertainment.
Participating restaurants include Molly's Bistro, Amazing Deli, Espresso Milano and Peel 'n Pare, hosted at retailers including Coyer Candle, Ways to Wellness, Northwood Gallery and Little Forks Outfitters.
Just 200 tickets will be sold for the event, which cost $32 and can be found at the DDA office in Midland City Hall or
online. Ticketholders must be 21 to participate, and proceeds go to the DDA.
