Saginaw Valley State University to host Great Lakes Bay Regional Solar Summit

The talk of the town in Saginaw come April 19 will be solar power.

The Saginaw Valley State University Great Lakes Region Solar Summit will be taking place and will have a slew of solar industry experts ranging from project developers, manufacturers, supplies and utility representatives on hand for the seminar. Also invited are businesses interested in installing solar power capabilities.

The networking event provides a great chance for the entire solar community to gather and get the latest insights from supply chain opportunities to successfully implementing solar projects. The event also provides an excellent opportunity for industry participants and businesses to connect and build relationships.

"We are truly hoping to bring together industry experts with manufacturers, suppliers, utilities, project developers and all those that are interested in the solar industry to network and discuss the global, national and regional solar industry," says Linda Haas, of the SVSU's Michigan Manufacturing Technology Center.

The summit is hoping to have approximately 125 attendees and are accepting registration through April 12. There is a $39 fee for the event, and lunch is included.

The summit will have two forums running simultaneously: Solar in the Great Lakes Bay Region and Making Solar Work for Your Business. The Solar in the Great Lakes Bay Region discussion targets active industry players and comprises presentations on industry trends, outlooks, innovations, and supply chain opportunities. The Making Solar Work for Your Business forum targets business owners interested in installing a solar system. This discussion will focus on the understanding of solar fundamentals including cost, characteristics, implementation, availability and payback.

The summit is also searching for exhibitors to show off their solar-related businesses and information. There is no charge to exhibit information, but if exhibitors want to attend they will still be required to pay the $39 attendance fee.

To RSVP, or for more information, please email Haas.
