Good nurses make for a good hospital, so by that standard,
MidMichigan Health is doing really well.
MidMichigan Health's nursing workforce has been chosen to receive the Michigan Health Council's Building Michigan's Healthcare Workforce Award, in the category of community or regional collaboration.
The award is being given to MidMichigan Health's nursing workforce because of a recent strategic partnership formed between the health system and Mid Michigan Community College, which created a LPN to RN educational and training program.
"This is a great honor, and I would like to say thank you to President Churchill, Barbra Wieszciecinski and Jennifer Swartz from
Mid Michigan Community College for helping us make this happen," says Kay Wagner, manager of workforce development at MidMichigan Health. "We have made it on the map in Michigan as an organization that is making great strides in the area of workforce development."
Representatives from both the college and the hospital received the award at a recent presentation in Lansing.
