Mt. Pleasant Area Chamber of Commerce one of 75 in country to offer new smart phone app

It's going to be difficult to ever say the Mt. Pleasant Area Chamber of Commerce isn't on the cutting edge of technology. The organization recently announced that they are now promoting their members and their events through a new (and free) smart phone app.

The app, known as the MyChamberApp, allows users to find local businesses, a calender of events and discounts being offered by local chamber members. Users can even us the GPS technology in their phones to direct them right to the businesses they are looking for.

"The Mt. Pleasant Chamber already offers the public up-to-date member information on our website using a searchable business directory," writes Lisa Wilczak on the chamber's website. "With the growth of mobile usage increasing, the need arose to make member information and specials even more accessible to people on the go. We realize it is important to stay ahead of the technology curve. Providing this mobile venue is beneficial not just for our members, but for the community as a whole."

The Mt. Pleasant Area Chamber of Commerce is not only cutting edge, they are leading the way for their peers as well. Out of 7,200 chambers of commerce in the United States, the Mt. Pleasant Area Chamber is one of the first 75 to promote its members through the app, which is available for download here.
