Aspiring entrepreneurs should take the chance to learn how to launch a small business

If you're interested in starting a business but just aren't sure where you should start, let us make a recommendation. The Michigan Small Business & Technology Development Center Great Lakes Bay will be offering a free seminar at Hoyt Library in Saginaw titled Fundamentals of Starting a Business.

The seminar will run from 6 to 8:30 p.m., Oct. 27, and is designed for individuals who are considering self-employment or are at the beginning stages of starting their business.

The seminar will be delivered in a workshop format and is focused as an introductory session to help aspiring entrepreneurs assess their abilities to lead and manage a company, as well as evaluate market and sales potential for their products and services. The basics of business ownership will be introduced along with resources available to help launch new ventures in Michigan.

"This seminar provides the perfect opportunity to learn about resources available to help you. It is a great first step in your entrepreneurial venture," states Christine Greve, director of the MI-SBTDC Great Lakes Bay.

The Fundamentals of Starting a Business seminar includes what it takes to start a business, why you need a business plan, what licenses and permits are needed, how to get funding and the myth of "free money," as well as what resources are available to help set up your business.
