Lindsey Zion, economic development assistant for
Saginaw Future, has a new credential to add to her name.
She was recently certified as an Economic Development Finance Professional from the National Development Council, which requires individuals to complete a training series from the council that focuses intensely on economic development finance.
The council has been around since 1969 and is a nonprofit group that provides training and technical assistance for community development efforts.
Zion studied business credit analysis, real estate financing, loan packaging, deal structuring and negotiating, and the creation and implementation of development programs to receive the credential.
She is a graduate of Saginaw Valley State University with degrees in international business and management, and previously worked with Saginaw Future under a Business in Education grant-funded internship position aimed at attracting solar companies to the region.
