Northwood University has new director of enrollment

Brian Sandusky has been named the new VP of enrollment management at Midland's Northwood University, according to an announcement from Northwood's president and CEO Keith Pretty.

Originally from Grand Rapids, Sandusky comes to Northwood from Ottawa University in Ottawa, Kansas. Ottawa is similar to Northwood, as a private, multi-campus educational institution.

Sandusky, as a VP there, led Ottawa through a transitional period of financial turnaround that saw the university's revenues go from $27 million to $44 million in four years. Along with that financial success, Pretty says the more important success was improvement in student experiences and outcomes at Ottawa, such as academic success and student retention.

"I believe his experiences in enrollment management and background in corporate development, along with his strong beliefs and alignment with the Northwood Idea, are a perfect match. I am looking forward to his help to strategically shape and grow the residential campuses and adult degree program in our quest of developing the future leaders of a global, free-enterprise society," says Pretty of the choice.

Other previous experience of Sandusky's includes an administrative role at Bellevue University in Nebraska, a position as executive consultant at Enrollment Management Consultants in Denver, Colorado, and as enrollment training and regional manager for Alta Colleges in Denver. He earned a bachelor's degree from Davenport University in Grand Rapids, a master's degree from the University of Phoenix and a doctorate from Northcentral University.
