McBryde named president of MMDC

The Middle Michigan Development Corp. (MMDC) announced it has a new president, James McBryde.

McBryde will replace Brian Anderson in the role, who took a different position during the winter.

McBryde is a Mt. Pleasant area resident who has extensive experience in Lansing, having served as a representative for the 99th District in the Michigan House of Representatives in 1990. He's also worked at the Michigan Department of Community Health, chaired the Michigan State Liquor Control Commission, and, for the last 12 years, has served as the VP of government relations for the Michigan Economic Development Corp.

Rod Loomis, chairman of the MMDC, says they are "extremely pleased to have Jim on board. He will bring a vast amount of talent and experience to the MMDC and as a local resident, has a firm grasp on the needs of our communities."
