The Clare provider team for MidMichigan Physicians Group just added some more quality health care talent to their office thanks to the hiring of Renee Doherty, a family nurse practitioner.
She specializes in treating people of all ages and provides a full spectrum of family medical care, including pediatrics, women's and men's health, preventive care, acute and chronic illness management, health screenings and immunizations.
Doherty has been a nurse for more than 20 years. She has experience in the Emergency Department at MidMichigan Medical Center in Clare and also worked with MidMichigan Home Care and with Hospice. During her years with MidMichigan Home Care she specialized in geriatrics and hospice and palliative care.
"I have encountered many nursing situations that included both older people and children, and every aspect of my experience has helped equip me for primary care," Doherty says. "Each individual is important. I treat my patients as I would a member of my family. My approach is focused on giving patients excellent care so they have quality of life."
Doherty is board certified by the American Nursing Credentialing Center. Her education includes a Master of Science degree in nursing and a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing, both from Michigan State University College of Nursing in Lansing.
