Mid Michigan Health hires new IT leader

MidMichigan Health, headquartered in Midland, has a new chief information officer, Daniel Waltz.

Waltz, of Saline, will start his new job in early January and comes to the healthcare system after 13 years at the University of Michigan Health System, where he served as executive director of medical information technology.

He also was previously the chief information officer at Chelsea Community Hospital and managed patient financial services and IT at St. Joseph Mercy Health Systems. He has a bachelor's degree in organizational development from Eastern Michigan University and a master's degree in business administration from University of Phoenix.

"We are pleased to welcome Dan to MidMichigan Health. He had responsibility for information technology transformation at UMHS and has led the information technology systems of small community hospitals and a regional health system, so he will be a great IT leader for our organization," says Diane Postler-Slattery, MidMichigan health president and CEO. "Health care systems rely heavily on the integration of their information systems for efficient and high quality processes, and we feel that Dan will continue to help us advance in this area."

MidMichigan Health serves 14 mid-Michigan counties with urgent care centers and clinics across the region.
