The leadership changes just keep coming at
Central Michigan University, as the next to be named is VP of research and sponsored programs, John McGrath.
He comes to Mount Pleasant from the National Science Foundation, where he has been the director of the division of chemical, bioengineering, environmental and transport systems since 2008. McGrath will start his new job on August 16 at a salary of $201,500.
"Dr. McGrath has the experience as an active researcher, principle grant investigator and as an administrator which will prove invaluable as he provides leadership in helping Central Michigan University move forward in the area of research," says Gary Shapiro, CMU's executive VP and provost.
McGrath also currently serves as an ex-officio member of the National Institutes of Health National Advisory Council for Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering and as a professor of aerospace and mechanical engineering at the University of Arizona. He has previously held positions at Michigan State University and Masschusetts Institute of Technology.
