It's important to keep a community cleaned up.
First of all, it's never nice to see any kind of trash building up along the roadside, and it's a turn-off for both tourists and residents alike. So it's always refreshing when a business steps up and does its part to help keep its hometown cleaned up.
Employees from the
Dow Chemical Employees' Credit Union recently joined forces with Midland's State Representative Jim Stamas to clean up roadside trash and debris in the neighborhood surrounding the credit union and near US-10.
"We were honored when Rep. Stamas approached us to join with him in this community clean-up effort," says DCECU president and CEO Dennis Hanson. "Dow Chemical Employees' Credit Union takes great pride in beautifying our little corner of the Midland community for visitors entering our town from the east."
The team of 13 people worked from 7 to 9 a.m. Aug. 9. Together, they collected 12 commercial-sized bags of litter.
