The life of a chamber of commerce director is always a busy one, but that's part of what Lisa McCartney is excited for in her new position. She's the new manager of the
Clare Area Chamber of Commerce, and a 2010 Central Michigan University graduate.
"I'm very excited to be working for the Clare Area Chamber and with the board," McCartney says. "I want to see Clare and the chamber members better represented within the community and online. My experience in marketing communications should prove beneficial in some new changes I have planned."
McCartney attended Mid-Michigan Community College and CMU, graduating with a degree in journalism, concentrating in public relations. Her past positions have included design, public relations, writing, event planning and marketing and communications, all of which make the chamber excited about welcoming her aboard.
"We are excited to have Lisa as Clare's new chamber manager," says Roger Williams, Clare Area Chamber president. "The chamber has made great strides forward in the past five years under our previous director. The Chamber Board is now looking to build upon those successes and found Lisa to be a perfect fit for the future we envision."
McCartney is a Clare resident, and will bring some new ideas for promoting the chamber at its board meeting next month, she says.
