If there’s one thing for sure when it comes to the Annual Northwood University International Auto Show, it’s that you’re going to get to see a lot of cool cars and learn plenty about them along the way.
This year, the show is expected to have over 500 new domestic and imported cars, trucks, vans, specialty vehicles, recreational vehicles and experimental designs, as well as various automotive aftermarket products.
The theme for this year’s show, which will be Sept. 30 through Oct. 2, is "The Road to Innovation."
"This year's theme, 'The Road to Innovation,' focuses on the technology being incorporated into today's vehicles by automotive manufacturers in order to meet the ever-changing demands of the consumer," says Joshua Struck, the show’s general chair. "These vehicles are not only beneficial to the environment but also improve the overall customer experience. This allows for the driver and passengers to once again partake in the adventure of driving."
The organizers of the event are hoping to reach the expected 50,000 guests throughout the three-day show. The event, which includes a Classic Car Show on Sunday, Oct. 2, is planned and executed solely by Northwood students.
Some noteworthy exhibits will be the Chevrolet Volt, Chrysler Group’s Team Street and Racing Technology concept vehicles, a Lamborghini Reventon (only 20 exist currently) and two Ferrari models and a Bugatti Veyron.
And if that doesn’t pique the interest of the younger attendees, perhaps the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile and one of Santa Claus’ sleighs will.
The auto show is free of charge and information can be found at the event’s
website.
