Shiloh Industries, Inc. is growing and part of that is thanks to a Community Development Block Grant from the Michigan Economic Development Corporation from the Michigan Strategic Fund.
The grant, which was for $1 million, will be used for job training needed at Shiloh Die Cast Midwest in Alma, which is currently expanding. The company is adding in new machinery and equipment, as well as upgrading existing equipment, to add in a new vehicle part production line. In total, the company is investing $16.5 million and creating 45 new jobs. The grant money will be used towards employee training. The grant money will be administered by the city of Alma, which will provide staff resources in support of the project.
In total, nine companies across the state were using grant money from the program to help them invest a total of $146.3 million and create or retain 970 jobs.
