A new cardiac laboratory will soon grace
MidMichigan Health's medical center in Clare, as this fall has seen ground broken on the new catheterization lab, due to open its doors in April.
Cardiac catheterization is a diagnostic and treatment procedure that helps cardiologists discover blocked blood vessels and choose the best way to treat them. The new building offers physicians more space, new state-of-the-art technology and digital imaging.
"We expect to begin doing diagnostic catheterizations and peripheral vascular interventions beginning in April," says Ray Stover, president of the Clare center. "Our cardiologists are committed to performing these procedures at the Medical Center, and this will be a new, high-quality service for our community members."
The center also is creating two new waiting room areas, remodeling a surgical suite, and reconfiguring the main lobby area to improve patient registration.
Local contractors are managed by Three Rivers Corp., and include Robbin Harsh Excavating, Coleman Electric Services and Bonham Heating and Cooling.
