For those missing the home-cooked tastes of Deb and Jesse's Hometown Diner in Farwell, you're in luck--they're re-opening this week.
The diner, which was closed due to a mid-January fire, has been completely renovated and cleaned up and will be back to serving scrumptious plates to patrons starting March 23. It is located downtown and is open seven days a week.
Customers will get to enjoy a completely new interior--from the framework right out to the new floors and ceiling. There's also new electrical, plumbing, heating and insulation, too.
What's also new is the menu--updated from the previous incarnation.
"We are now offering fresh ingredients, rather than canned, and are featuring barbecued ribs, grilled shrimp, homemade appetizers and fresh, char-grilled burgers," says Deb Pacheco, the owner of the restaurant along with her husband, Jesse.
There will be a grand opening from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. March 23 and will feature free samples and prizes. The full restaurant will be open starting at 4 p.m. that day.
