Central Michigan University hires new dean of medicine, looks to expand

It's no secret that the auto industry is in need of bright new visionary ideas and leaders, and the University of the Aftermarket at Northwood University is welcoming some of those people to Midland this month.

The University of the Aftermarket is a specialized educational unit of Northwood University, which provides business, management and leadership education to professionals in the auto aftermarket industry. Each year, it holds a "Leadership 2.0" program that brings mid-level professionals in aftermarket businesses to develop their leadership and executive skills.

This September, Northwood will see 30 students in the program, representing 23 businesses or organizations, in every level of the auto aftermarket supply chain. The program is filled for the third straight year, says University of the Aftermarket Director Brian Cruickshank.

"We've seen a significant increase in demand for participation in the Leadership 2.0 program, particularly as recent graduates spread the word about their positive experiences," Cruickshank says. "We have clearly developed a curriculum and format that reflect the interests of today's talented young aftermarket leaders."

The program offers a variety of educational opportunities, including on campus classes as well as those offered through on-demand and distance options. A slideshow presentation about the Aftermarket program is available via this link.
