Military: Jobs Landed

As a platform engineer for an EOD (explosive ordinance disposal) vehicle, I am responsible for providing sound technical advice on vehicle systems, subsystems, and components. Another facet of the job involves working with different groups to facilitate integration efforts of new systems and vehicle upgrades to maintain a common configuration. Because of our involvement overseas, the job has some high demands for meeting short deadlines and also requires me to travel domestically and globally to support the vehicle program. Giving our soldiers the best equipment possible so they can perform their mission is our main focus and certainly a source of job satisfaction.

I am an Electrical Engineer for TARDEC.  TARDEC is part of the US Army Research, Development and Engineering Command.  I help develop and integrate the right technology solutions to improve the effectiveness of the current force and realize the superior capability of the future force in order to facilitate Army transformation. I like working here because my job helps keep the Army soldiers safe while they are fighting for our country.

I am responsible for assisting with programs in the Executive Office to aid in the implementation of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Detroit District's mission to deliver world-class engineering and construction solutions for national security, environmental sustainability and economic vitality, water-resource management and emergency assistance throughout the Great Lakes Region. Specifically, I work with the talent management program (recruiting, career fairs, succession planning) and the development of a plan to involve the Corps in social networking activities (Twitter, Facebook, YouTube).
