The old Kingsley Inn on Woodward Avenue has been transformed after a complete overhaul.
The remodeled hotel will reopen as the DoubleTree by Hilton Bloomfield Hills Detroit after a multi-year, multi-million dollar renovation effort. It’s expected to open later this month.
Not only the renovations, but the additions, too, are many.
New to the building are the two-story atrium lobby, business center, luxury suites, and lounge. Renovated guest rooms feature pillow-top beds, walk-in showers, complimentary WiFi, and more.
DoubleTree by Hilton Bloomfield Hills Detroit is owned by Zaid Elia, CEO and founder, The Elia Group, and Matt Shiffman, CEO, Alden Development Group. It is managed by Troy-based Hotel Investment Services.
"The level of excitement we had through the life of this project to reinvent an iconic property in the Metro Detroit market was unparalleled," says Shiffman.
"The Kingsley was the place to be seen, the place to stay, and the place to hold a celebration; truly the bees’ knees. I would like to think we restored the property to its once world-class level from 1959 and now far beyond as we bring to market another option for people to stay, dine, celebrate, and depend on."
There will also be two new on-site restaurants.
First it’s Zalman’s Delicatessen. Characterized as a quintessential New York-style deli, the restaurant features smoked salmon, whitefish and house-cured lox. Also on the menu are a la carte and full breakfast dishes, soups, market salads, deli sandwiches with all the fixings, dinner entrées, and desserts.
In the lobby is The Duke, a cocktail lounge with classic American small bites complemented by wines and Champganes by the glass as well as rare whiskies, Scotch flights, premium cocktails, and Martinis.
DoubleTree by Hilton Bloomfield Hills Detroit is located at 39475 Woodward Ave. in Bloomfield Hills.
