A national brand of co-working office spaces has established its second location in the suburban Oakland County community of Troy. The location in Irvine, California. is its first.
Sevenco will celebrate its Michigan location with a grand opening event on Wednesday, Nov. 13, from 3 to 7 p.m. The event, which is free and open to the public but limited to 50 guests, will feature tours of the workspaces and amenities, and complimentary snacks and refreshments.
The Troy workspace is the latest in a years-long trend of co-working spaces opening throughout metro Detroit.
"Workplace and workforce needs are changing," says Andrew Nadhir, Sevenco director of operations.
"Companies are seeing that only half of their staff might be in the office at any one time. As a result, they are looking to make smarter, more flexible decisions both financially and culturally."
Sevenco boasts flexible workspaces adaptable to client needs. Guests can rent co-working spaces, dedicated desks, private offices, and conference rooms. A white noise generator works to soften the sound between offices. Natural light bathes the space.
Amenities, in addition to traditional office space offerings, include a nursing and meditation room, a kitchen stocked with complimentary coffee, tea, and beer, and an outdoor patio. Sevenco also offers advanced mail handling, a dedicated phone line, call screening, and notary services.
The Troy location features ten restaurants on-site, five more within walking distance, and two hotels within 100 yards, says Gary P. Grochowski, Senior Vice President and Director of Agency Leasing for Colliers International, Sevenco’s commercial real-estate firm of record.
"Coworking spaces act as accelerators for business growth," says Nadhir.
"We pride ourselves on creating an environment of connection where members can bring clients, collaborate with others, and even bring their dogs."
Sevenco is located in the tower at 888 W. Big Beaver Rd. in Troy.
