Looking for a Christmas light tour to ring in the holidays? There are several spectacular displays in and around Mt. Pleasant that are sure to spread Christmas cheer. We have selected three of our favorites to help you enjoy the beauty of the holiday season.
1054 E. Maple St.
Maple Street
If you are looking for a stunning and immersive holiday light display, the home of Sarah and Rob Gurski at 1054 E. Maple St. is sure to catch your eye.
“We try to go a little bigger and brighter every year,” says Sarah Gurski. “It takes about three weeks to assemble all of the lights. A couple of years back we had our electrical work reworked to accommodate all of the lights for our home … We just like a lot of lights!”
The Gurskis extend their light display to incorporate the sidewalks near their house and put archways of lights over the sidewalks to make the display as interactive as possible.
“We want people to walk through our display, that’s our goal,” says Gurski. “Sometimes when little kids come by I can hear them amazed by the lights as they go under the arches. I have a little bowl of candy canes for the little ones when I can go outside and catch them in time.”
The Gurski’s neighbors participate in the festivities as well. 1045 E. Maple St. directly across the street has a wonderful light display to match the Gurski’s holiday spirit.
601 S. University Ave.
Near Central Michigan University’s Campus
At 601 S. University Ave. you will find the home of the Daileys. Lights and garland wrapping around the porch and wreaths hanging from their home create a warm and welcoming scene for visitors.
A short walk away at 701 Fancher St., you’ll see Santa waving to you from a home so perfectly accented in lights it could be a gingerbread house. Head a bit further up the street to 711 Fancher St. and you will find reindeer, wreaths, and beautifully wrapped trees.

Broadway Street, Downtown Mt. Pleasant
Downtown Mt. Pleasant never fails to brighten spirits during the holiday season. Created by local artists, festive scenes in the windows of several businesses glow under the lights hanging from the trees and twinkle light-covered buildings illuminate the entire downtown area.
“It’s a tradition, every year we choose a night to walk downtown and look at all the lights and the art,” says Nick Bradley. “We have been taking our kids since they were born.”
Walk far enough down Broadway Street and you can even see Santa’s sleigh and reindeer on top of Riverview Apartments.
