Last year was such a success that this year will be even bigger.
The Bay Area Pitch A Dream entrepreneur competition returns this Tues., Nov. 12.
The event pits ten finalists in front of a Shark Tank-like panel of experts as they pitch their small business ideas for a chance to win thousands of dollars.
This year, however, features an added event to the line-up.
Beginning at 11 a.m. on the same day is Pitch A Dream Presents: MUSE Insight for Entrepreneurs, a luncheon and networking opportunity preceding the evening’s main event.
"The Muse Insight for Entrepreneurship Program is designed to pull together resources throughout the region to support economic development, entrepreneurship, innovation, and talent attraction including Bay, Isabella, Midland, and Saginaw counties," says Erin Strang, president and CEO of CMURC, the sponsor of the event.
"This is not a new concept: Last year Bay County and a collaborative of Bay Future, the Bay Area Chamber, the Bay Area Growth Alliance, and CMURC worked together to create a competition called "Pitch A Dream" to attract new business to the county.
"It had such a great impact that we wanted to build upon it and celebrate entrepreneurs."
MUSE Insight for Entrepreneurs begins at 11 a.m. at the DoubleTree by Hilton on the Bay City Riverfront on Tues., Nov. 12. The final presentation and awards ceremony for the 2019 Pitch A Dream competition begins at 5 p.m. at the State Theatre later that day.
Tickets are
available online.
"Right now, we have 10 entrepreneurs from throughout the region confirmed to talk at the Muse Insight for Entrepreneurship Luncheon. We will have another 10 entrepreneurs competing in the Pitch A Dream competition later that day,” says Strang.
"The community can join the evening pitch finals starting at 5 p.m."
