From a farmhouse on the outskirts of town to a historic building downtown, Sereniti’s Treasures is further establishing itself in the Mt. Pleasant community with a second location for the holiday shopping season.
Alice Ricketts has joined the other artist vendors at GraySky Gallery to sell her antiques and crafts every weekend now up and to Christmas. The Ricketts family first opened Sereniti’s Treasures in August 2018, the empty nesters taking advantage of their farmhouse and operating from there once their children flew the coop.
Now they run Sereniti’s Treasures full-time out of their property on Pickard Road and weekends at GraySky Gallery downtown.
For Alice, it’s been a chance to turn a passion into a profession, and become a business owner once more.
"I owned a flower shop back in 2005. I always loved owning a business. In the back of my mind, I always knew there would be a day when I wanted to do it again," Alice says.
"I took a bunch of online training and got certified as both an antique dealer and appraiser."
Sereniti’s Treasures sells a wide variety of products, including antiques, "vintage and primitive uniques," collectibles, home décor, floral arrangements, and more. Alice also makes and sells her own Native American beadwork.
Business at the farmhouse has been brisk, she says, drawing antique hunters from all over the state and even Ohio. It was a visit from GraySky’s Damian Fisher that prompted their seasonal partnership, with Fisher asking Alice to become a weekend vendor at GraySky for the holiday shopping season.
Sereniti’s Treasures can be found downtown at GraySky Gallery every Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. GraySky Gallery is located at 120 S. Main St. in downtown Mt. Pleasant.
The farmhouse can be found at 1425 W. Pickard Rd. in Mt. Pleasant. Sereniti’s Treasures is open there every Thursday through Sunday, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
